As a teacher, writer and critic for three decades, Michelle Grabner has developed a wide-ranging perspective on art and culture. Her studio is the place where she synthesizes her diverse roles and interests. Her artistic practice is motivated by a strong work ethic and a desire to operate outside of mainstream systems. She explores abstract patterns and their multiple meanings, testing the boundaries of formal structures to find the balance between order and chaos; between repetition and variation.
