Her work is imbued with minute details that human eyes often fail to register, making her paintings and drawings a treasure of rediscovery. Skrainka painted shadows and mirrored surfaces with intelligence and a thoughtful artistic sensibility to create pictures within pictures. Her art-historical background informs the work.

The latest exhibition of her work was a retrospective at the Saint Louis University Museum of Art (Reflections: Close to Home, March-May, 2016.) A catalogue raisonné of Reflections: Close to Home was published in July 2016.
